SUNY New Paltz Site & Landscape Master Plan
New Paltz, NY
Working for the State University Construction Fund (SUCF), EE&K developed a Site and Landscape Master Plan for the State University of New York (SUNY) College at New Paltz.
EE&K was asked to design a campus environment that creates an appropriate sense of place and compliments the college’s academic and community mission. Working closely with SUCF and a SUNY New Paltz Steering Committee, EE&K developed a long-range, comprehensive vision including a framework to integrate existing buildings, potential sites for development, outdoor places, and vehicular and pedestrian circulation systems for the 226 acre campus.
SUNY New Paltz is a comprehensive college serving approximately 8,500 students and is located in the Hudson Valley half way between Albany and New York City. The campus covers an area of 226 acres and contains 58 state owned educational and residential buildings with a total area of just over 2 million gross square feet.
